Specialized Software and Mobile Apps for Elementary Students with Learning Disabilities
Description: Interested in the newest innovations in learning software and how they can help your child learn in the classroom and at home? This seminar offers an overview of specific software and mobile apps designed for the child with learning difficulties in the areas of reading, writing, organization and math skills. The focus of this seminar is to demonstrate the capabilities of each software, and to link each piece of software to your child’s learning profile. You will be amazed at the impact these programs can have on your child’s learning potential!
Audience:Â Parents/caregivers of elementary (K-6) students with learning difficulties or disabilities. Teachers also welcome.

Mobile Communication Tools for Children with Developmental Delay or Autism Spectrum Disorders
Description: Come and see how Apple’s mobile devices and “applications†can help your child communicate! These are the future of communication tools. They are designed for students who have difficulty with verbal communication or who are non-verbal. Applications (popularly know as “appsâ€) designed specifically for communication purposes are downloaded onto an iPodTouch, iPad or iPhone, allowing for powerful, portable, affordable, easy-to-use and “cool†communication tools for your child. Ideal for elementary and junior high school students (can be used as young as Kindergarten age), and supports inclusive educational practices.
Audience:Â Parents/caregivers of students with communication delays/disorders. Teachers also welcome.
